Jon L. Dooley, Executive Vice President – Real Estate
Jon L. Dooley is executive vice president–real estate at Behringer Harvard. With more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience, Mr. Dooley joined Behringer Harvard as an officer in 2004 and served as an independent director of Behringer Harvard REIT I, Inc. from June 2002 to May 2003.
In 2002, he served as a senior vice president with Trammell Crow Company. For 13 years prior to joining Trammell Crow Company, Mr. Dooley held various senior management positions with Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, Inc. and Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, Inc. From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Dooley served as a senior vice president of asset management for Equitable Real Estate Management, Inc. Mr. Dooley received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University.
James D. Fant, Senior Vice President – Real Estate
James D. Fant serves as senior vice president–real estate at Behringer Harvard and has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. Mr. Fant’s current responsibilities include sourcing potential new acquisitions as well as management of the acquisition team. Prior to joining Behringer Harvard, Mr. Fant served as vice president of acquisitions for the pension advisory firm Kennedy Associates. From 1983 to 1998, Mr. Fant served in multiple capacities for MEPC American Properties, including senior vice president. Mr. Fant is a certified public accountant and is a licensed real estate salesman. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Joe Jernigan, Senior Vice President – Acquisitions
Joe Jernigan joined Behringer Harvard in February 2006. His primary responsibilities center on acquisitions for both of the Opportunity REIT investment programs. Prior to joining Behringer Harvard, Mr. Jernigan worked as executive vice president and director of North American real estate for Hudson Advisors and the Lone Star Fund where he successfully directed the asset management and liquidation of more than $2.5 billion of commercial real estate assets. Mr. Jernigan has held management positions in portfolio management, acquisitions, and dispositions and financing with Presidio Investments, GE Capital, and Amresco/BEI. Throughout the course of his career Mr. Jernigan’s commercial real estate experiences have involved in excess of $20.0 billion located in 41 states.
Richard K. Frank, Senior Vice President – Hotel Acquisitions and Asset Management
Rick Frank is a vice president of Behringer Harvard overseeing their hotel group. He has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector. Immediately prior to joining Behringer Harvard in August 2006, Mr. Frank was a vice president in AEW’s Hospitality Group, responsible for investment origination and asset management activities. The majority of his hotel operational experience was gained at ITT Sheraton (later becoming Starwood), first in senior financial positions and later in operations, managing large convention hotels. Mr. Frank began his career at Arthur Andersen, specializing in the real estate and hospitality industries. A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, he also holds an MBA from Fordham University.
Chad Jackson, Vice President – Real Estate Acquisitions
Chad Jackson is Behringer Harvard’s vice president, real estate acquisitions contact for the central region of the United States. He is responsible for sourcing and evaluating commercial real estate acquisitions of Behringer Harvard REIT I, Inc. in major cites in the central United States. Mr. Jackson joined Behringer Harvard in May 2004 as an acquisition analyst, and his duties included sourcing and evaluating commercial real estate for acquisition by REIT I. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Jackson was a loan officer with Wells Fargo Bank in the real estate group from November 2002 to May 2004. For most of 2002, Mr. Jackson was a credit analyst with Colonial Bank in its real estate group.
William J. Armendariz, Real Estate Acquisitions
Bill Armendariz is the real estate acquisitions representative for the Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT I, Inc. and for the upcoming Behringer Harvard Opportunity REIT II, Inc. He has been with Behringer Harvard since May 2004, initially working on core acquisitions for Behringer Harvard REIT I, Inc. and on diverse projects for other Behringer funds throughout the country. Prior to joining Behringer Harvard, Mr. Armendariz was a portfolio manager for Greenway Investment Company, a private Dallas real estate investment company. In this role, he oversaw and coordinated the performance of a 59-asset portfolio comprised of 1.16 million square feet. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Armendariz was vice president of acquisitions and finance for the RM Crowe Company in Dallas.
Scott Ryan, Vice President, Acquisitions
Scott Ryan is vice president of acquisitions for Behringer Harvard, focusing primarily on core acquisitions for assets in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and Phoenix. Mr. Ryan joined Behringer Harvard at its inception in early 2003 and has worked on acquisitions for the company throughout the United States. He brings to Behringer Harvard more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate concentrated in valuation and acquisitions.
Robert T. Poynter, Vice President of Multifamily, Advisor
Mr. Poynter is the vice president of multifamily of our advisor. Mr. Poynter is responsible for reviewing and improving existing policies regarding the multifamily investment and acquisition process for Behringer Harvard and for developing best practices for the multifamily group. In this capacity Mr. Poynter also is responsible for sourcing, underwriting and administering the multifamily investment and acquisition process for Behringer Harvard.
Prior to joining Behringer Harvard, from October 1983 to September 2006, Mr. Poynter was employed by JPI, a multifamily development and acquisition company. Mr. Poynter was a senior vice president of several different JPI-affiliated entities and served as the Strategic Recapitalization Services Partner. During that time, Mr. Poynter worked on condominium and home sales, corporate housing, third party property management services and acquisitions. Mr. Poynter also was involved in numerous disposition transactions for JPI with an aggregate value of approximately $2.2 billion. Mr. Poynter is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Texas. Mr. Poynter received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
